History of Hart-Parr Oliver
Hart-Parr
In 1900 Charles Hart and Charles Parr produced the first successful mass production gas engine tractor.  Their factory was based in Charles City, Iowa and was later to be called Hart-Parr.  They introduced the word “tractor” to the English language.
Oliver Chilled Plow Works
In 1857 James Oliver working out of a plant in South Bend, Indiana received his first patent for his chilled plow.  This chilled plow had a very hard outer skin and was able to scour in heavy, sticky soils with greater wearability. Word of its success spread world-wide, resulting in an enormous amount of plows being manufactured and sold. Oliver soon became known as the "Plowmaker for the World."
Oliver Farm Machinery
This Company was formed in 1929 after the merger of the Hart-Parr Tractor Works, Nichols & Shepard, Oliver Chilled Plow Works and the American Seeding Company. Corporate offices were set up in Chicago, Illinois while the plants remained at their existing locations. The company could now supply the farmer with a tractor, tillage tools, planting tools and harvesting machines. The Oliver Farm Equipment Company became the Oliver Corporation in 1944.

About us.....
Who are we?
Founded in 2008 we are a non- profit organization who gathers to preserve and promote the history, memorabilia, and farm machinery of the Hart-Parr Oliver Cooperation to its collectors and the public
What do we do?
We attend monthly meetings and discuss/act upon/carry out decisions by the interest of the club such as sponsoring a tractor pull, promoting an antique tractor show, parade, plow days, or tractor related event.

We also preserve Oliver machinery by restoring and displaying tractors and related equipment and help those in need of information, parts, and technical advice.
Where do we do it?
Each year we choose a certain place that may feature/host/promote the history of Hart-Parr Oliver.  We as a regional chapter of the H.P.O.C.A.(Hart-Parr Oliver Collectors Association) will promote and represent our area to that event.  Each event differs from year to year and place to place.  We do attend events in one of three states; Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia
How do we do it?
We collect membership dues and take open donations.  We also sell calendars, T-shirts, raffle tickets, and other Oliver related misc. items
Membership benefits
Currently our membership is $18 per year.  That includes an insurance membership through the EDGE&TA.  Where ever the Tri-State Oliver club shows are held this provides a $2 million dollar coverage.  Also there is a benefit of but is not limited to great fun and fellowship at each gathering or function.  We welcome all who are interested in our club.  We have a friendly atmosphere and all are equal.
